Bluetooth Compatibility with the iPhone
All of the Bluetooth devices that we sell will work with any Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. Some devices have more features that will enhance your particular mobile phone's features. Read on to see what we recommend.
Profiles and Versions Supported by the iPhone
The iPhone supports Bluetooth version 2.0 + EDR
The iPhone supports the Hands Free Profile (HFP) and the Headset Profile (HSP).
Special Bluetooth Features of the iPhone
The Enhnaced Data Rate (EDR) supported by the iPhone means three times faster transmission speeds and lower power consumption.
Special Considerations with the iPhone and Bluetooth
The iPhone does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile, which means that you are not able to listen to stereo music through a Bluetooth connection.
There appears to be a glitch in the iPhone and how it works with Bluetooth headsets that offer multi-point technology (the ability to pair up to more than one device). The iPhone will not allow you to listen to your voice mail through a Bluetooth headset with multi-point technology. Therefore we recomend that unless you really need the feature of being able to pair up to multiple devices, that you avoid these headsets.
Bluetooth Devices we recommend to use with the iPhone:
Aliph's Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset
