Aliph Jawbone Prime Bluetooth Headset (Black)
Summary
Aliph continues to be a leader in noise-cancelling technology with the recently released Jawbone Prime. The Prime still relies on the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) touching your face for the patented military grade NoiseAssassin to work, but it has offered some updates including NoiseAssassin 2.0, a wind feedback system, and the Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD), which can tell if the VAS has stopped touching your face so regular noise cancelling can take over. The Jawbone Prime also features a new wearing style with the New Fit Earbuds, which allow you to wear the Prime without an earloop.
Manufacturer's Own Hype
" Aliph, with Jawbone PRIME™, has once again obsoleted itself with the latest and greatest in NoiseAssassin technology delivering an order of magnitude better noise elimination performance, an integrated digital approach to wind reduction, and a fail-safe solution if the VAS does not touch the face."
Editor's Comment
The good news:The NoiseAssassin technology still works really well on the Jawbone Prime and as long as you keep that VAS touching your face, you will sound excellent. The New Fit Earbuds are fantastic. Those little figure 8 looking pieces really hold the Prime securely in your ear and it’s really nice not to have to use those flimsy earloops.
Consider also:Aliph really continues to focus on the design, and the Jawbone Prime looks very sleek and small. On the down side, it still doesn’t seem to work very well in the wind, but I have yet to find a Bluetooth headset that does, unless you put a big foam piece over the microphone.
Bottom line:The Jawbone Prime is really similar to the Jawbone 2 (also known as the New Jawbone) just better.
