The good news:
The voice control on the BlueAnt V1 is really cool and really easy to use. You can even say "tips and tricks" to the headset and it will verbally tell you some of its cooler features. It's phone independent and will even let you use voice dialing with the iPhone. The noise cancelling is better than average for such a compact headset without a mic boom.

Consider also:
Awesome to get voice control at this price and the majority of users say it works perfectly, but some report how they occasionally have frustrations with using voice control, but those who persevere just love it.

Bottom Line:
Revolutionary voice control engine puts this headset way out in front for people who really appreciate that feature.

BlueAnt V1

Dear BlueAnt, I have sent a request for a return authorization number, but have not received a response. The V1 is a great concept, but does'nt work very well most of the time. If I answer my phone, via the handset, with the bluetooth V1 connected, I cannot hear anyone on either device. I have to completely disconnect the call and redial the number, or they have to call me back and i have to turn the bluetooth off. Most of the time, when I answer while driving, the bluetooth will pickup the line, but you can't hear anything. I am not sure if it's just my device or what. Anyway, I purchased TWO BlueAnt V1 and I would like an RA Number to return them for a full refund, as you refund policy states. I just want an nice headset, that you push to answer and push to release... no, auto answer, voice dial..etc... these don't work very well, or as expected. Please issue my RA # as soon as you can. Better than the Z9i

My old headset was a Z9i and I got complaints about the voice quality all the time while I was on calls. My new V1 is much better and has some voice activated functionality as well. At times the voice prompts in the headset can be a little annoying, the most useful tools are the voice answer (just speek "Answer or Ignore" when it's ringing) and the fact that it reads the number that is calling you instead of ringing in your ear. Those two features alone make it a true hands free device while driving or doing other tasks. For the most part, all the other voice controls I find useless in my opinion. Another HUGE improvement over the Z9i is the fact that the V1 uses more universal charging accessories and includes chargers for home, car, and USB.

The only problem so far is the unit doesn't work with the speed dial settings on my phone. When I give it a "call speed dial" command it randomly dials a number from my address list. I do have the speed dial functon set up on my phone to match yours and my phone is a Sony Walkman. I haven't tried the alternate method of setting up the speed dial yet but will soon. All other functions work great - I like it a lot.

This has replaced my Jawbone which I loved - just broke the wire and there's no replacement for that piece on the original model. The setup was a breeze and the noise cancellation is working perfectly. I'm usually around jet and aircraft noise, and so far, it handles the background fine in regular mode. When I click for more cancellation, it's phenomenal. Voice activation has a bit to be desired but it's getting there. When I ask it to call voicemail, it calls my office. Fit took a bit. Finally got it and it's very comfortable and secure. Overall, I'm very pleased with the unit and thought that your company did a great job in getting it to me quickly and correctly - not to mention, less expensively than anywhere else! 2 thumbs up on it.

this one repalced my jawbone, what a difference.The quality of the sound and the comfort of the Blueant is superior over any other Bluetooth I have owned in the past. i would also like to complement you on how fast I received the Blueant. good work!

I bought the V1 headset for my boyfriend , and he love this bluetooth, he really enjoy it. I'm so happy. He said that it works very good, and he is very satisfied of it

is the only bluetooth to has work with my blackberry8350i thah is grat thing you should make contractt with sprint so other cousotmers coan benifit also

Like the Z9i but worse

I tried out the Blue Ant Z9i, and it's great! This one adds voice commands to that headset, and the voice command feature is hilariously bad. It never dials the right number, and it can't understand when I tell it to answer the call. It is comfortable and looks fine, but the z9i does the trick, and I like the look of it better, too.

Voice Control is neat, but not perfect...

The V1 starts off really exciting with the voice commands that make pairing this bluetooth headset with my mobile phone a breeze. Within seconds I was paired up and answering my first call. (The voice command feature read the incoming callers' phone number to me and gave me the option to take or reject the call. It really is hands free! However when my first call was over, I discovered ending calls was not nearly as intuitive. Because the button on the back is meant to alert the headset to a coming voice command, one click won't do. (Turns out a double-click was needed.) This lead to an awkward moment as my caller waited for me to figure out how to hang up. Sound quality is reasonable with only slight distortion on the receiving end. My wife says I sound a little "muffled" on the other end. I find it suitable for walking around San Francisco or driving at highway speeds without struggle to have a conversation. Now that I've had the time to get used to the headsets and learn some of it's more common voice commands I find I actually like it a lot. The best feature of the headset is the ability to answer a call without ever touching the headset or my phone. The rest of the voice stuff I rarely use.

Cool idea, needs a little work

This headset is comfortable and the sound is pretty good. I love the idea of the voice control, but I had a little problem with it. I had trouble getting it going in the beginning and then when I tried to command it to "call speed dial 4" first it came back with "calling speed dial 6." So then I canceled the command, said, "call speed dial 4" again and it responded "calling speed dial 8" I tried this a couple more times and it kept confirming it was calling speed dial 8. Eventually I gave up and just manually pressed speed dial 4. I was able to voice command it to call some other speed dial numbers.
